What Homeowners say about working with Brian:

From the inspection to the walkthrough, Brian was always there to answer our questions. He took the time to explain the process and made it simple for us to understand. Highly recommend working with him.

Rick W.

Brian was honest and upfront. The work crew installed my roof in one day and were very professional.

Nancy B.

We had a great experience with Brian. We didn't know if we needed a new roof but after he took time to show us photos and videos, it was clear that we did. He still gave us the option to repair the roof but we didn't want to waste the money.

Common Roofing Questions

How do I know whether I need a roof replacement or repair?

Not every roof problem means you need a new roof. If the issue is isolated -- such as a damaged shingle, leaking flashing, or a problem around a vent or chimney -- a repair may be all that's needed. Replacement is usually recommended when the roof has widespread deterioration, significant granule loss, repeated leaks, failing shingles, or is nearing the end of its expected service life. We'll inspect the entire roofing system and give you an honest recommendation based on its actual condition.

How much does a new roof cost in New England?

The cost of a new roof depends on much more than square footage. Roof pitch, complexity, number of layers being removed, decking condition, flashing, ventilation, accessibility, and the roofing system you choose can all affect the final price. At RoofSmith New England, we provide clear, detailed pricing so you understand exactly what is included -- and what you're paying for -- before work begins.

How long does roof replacement take?

Most asphalt shingle roof replacements can be completed in one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the home, weather conditions, and whether any damaged roof decking is discovered during tear-off. Our goal is to complete the project efficiently without cutting corners, while protecting your property and keeping the job site clean throughout the installation.

Can you replace a roof during colder weather?

Yes. Roofing can be installed during colder New England Weather but in order for proper adhesion to occur, temperatures of above 40 degrees F should be present. Shingles become less flexible in cold temperatures and additional steps are required to ensure proper sealing and installation when temperatures are below 40 degrees F. We follow manufacturer installation requirements and will only install your roof when conditions allow us to do the job properly and safely.

What happens if damaged plywood is discovered?

If we find damaged decking during installation, we will repair or replace it as needed. This is a critical step to ensure the longevity and structural integrity of your roof.

Do I need to be home during installation?

While we typically ask homeowners to be present for a walkthrough, we can complete the work in your absence. We prioritize a clean job site and will leave the property as we found it.
